Bon Scott performed with several bands before joining AC/DC in 1974. He was lead singer and co-lyricist of AC/DC (1974-1980) and he led the band to its initial international success. The 1979 album Highway to Hell was the last for Bon. It has sold over 7-million copies in the US alone. AC/DC's sixth album, it solidified the band's international superstar status.
Scott was just 33 when found dead on February 19, 1980 from acute alcohol poisoning after a night out in London. Bon Scott now rests in the Memorial Gardens at the Fremantle Cemetery. His grave, now listed by the National Trust, is the most visited in Australia.
Although Doug didn't grow up in Fremantle like Bon did, he sees the city as his 'home' and loves the energy and vibe of the place. Doug is eagerly awaiting the release of the new AC/DC album as it will be their first in 8 years. He would love AC/DC to come back to play in Oz, as they haven't played in Perth since 2001.
