Bargain Lego, NORFOLK ISLAND
Airing Date: Jul 11th, 2005
Lego was invented in Denmark about 50 years ago but the cheapest Lego in the world is right next door to Australia in Norfolk Island!
Just a two and a half hour flight from Sydney is the Norfolk Island Bounty Toy Store, where you can make some great savings! The reason that the Lego is so cheap is that there is no tax and the shop keepers pass on the savings.
You can pick up the basic duplo bucket for just $14.95. A make and create designer set is $39.95 and it is usually $85! A Star Wars lego X wing fighter is $79.95, normally $109.
Captain Redbeards pirate ship is usually $99, but at the Bounty Toy Store it's just $79. And for the Harry Potter fans, Hagrid's house is just $43.95 when it's usually $49.95. Or Hogwarts castle is only $117, which is a saving of $42!
