The Blue Mountains is the major region for cliff and rope sports in NSW. There are over 400 canyons in the Blue Mountains area making it the largest wet weather canyon system in the world.
Blue Mountains Adventure Company has fantastic abseiling / canyon days for beginners. The tour travels to North Boyce near Blackheath for the first half of your adventure day, where you'll learn the fundamentals of abseiling. After a picnic lunch, you'll hop back into the bus and head for Empress Falls Canyon in Wentworth Falls, around 20 minutes from North Boyce.
This canyon has several sections to it including exciting water jumps, climbing over boulders, waterslides and great swimming. Canyon tours operate from October through till April, although dry canyon tours are offered all year round. Tours run on demand for 3 or more people. Parklands Country Retreat is a 28 acre heritage property adjoining the Blue Mountains National Park in Blackheath.
There are 3 luxury weatherboard garden cottages which hold 2 garden suites and 2 loft rooms. Each unit has a private entrance lobby and a private garden patio and is furnished with thoughtful attention to detail, creating a luxurious, comfortable and cosy atmosphere. Loft rooms, and all twelve units have expansive views of the splendid grounds.
