The Golden Door Health Retreat Elysia in the Hunter Valley opened in January 2004. It's a world class, purpose-built health retreat offering the latest in luxury facilities, accommodation, health spa and spiritual wellbeing.

To compensate for all these no-nos, the spa has 26 wet and dry treatment rooms, a 25 metre indoor lap pool, gymnasium, library, restaurant, tennis courts and a spa pool so big it can't possibly be labelled a bath!
Other than the treatment options, you can also take part in a range of exercise classes, with health care professionals like dieticians and naturopaths at your service.
The Elysia chef believes healthy eating should be every bit as tasty and satisfying as any restaurant fare. The restaurant's outside terrace overlooks Brokenback Range, and the food is delicious but still low in fat.
With all the luxury treatments, the exercise, the food and the pampering, one of the most important things to do is sleep. There are 74 stylish five star villas to ensure you get a good night's sleep. The rooms were specifically designed to provide a sanctuary in which you can completely surrender to the peace of the retreat - and room service will even deliver mouth-watering spa cuisine to your room.
If you're not there for the detox option, you're free to leave the resort property and experience some of what the Hunter Valley is known for. Check out the Boutique Wine Centre for a good range of local wines to taste or purchase.
