Ocean Farm is an exclusive property on the south coast of NSW, a ten minute drive from Kiama in the peaceful town of Gerringong. Apart from a small shopping centre and a heritage museum, the area is characterised by its green rolling pastures, quaint farmlands and the Pacific.
The idea of Ocean Farm came from Kate Mesley and Lucy McRae, who wanted to bring the European concept of chalet and villa style holidays to Australia. Kate and Lucy own three properties all within a short drive from Sydney. Each property is staffed with a talented chef and a host who cleans and attends to guests' needs. All that's left to do is sit back and relax and enjoy your beachside holiday.
Deep sea fishing is a popular excursion from Ocean Farm. Signa-Charter tours take tourists out to sea on a 44-foot game cruiser. Experienced guides provide lessons in fishing for marlin as well as yellowfin, tuna and an array of other fish.
Signa-Charter also offers tours from the shore where they will guide you through all the fishing hot spots around Kiama. Tea and coffee making facilities are provided aboard the boat, but it's recommend you bring a cut lunch and cold drinks. Gear and bait is supplied, and the day costs $80.
You can't visit Kiama without visiting its number one tourist attraction, the famous Kiama Blow Hole. Discovered by George Bass in 1797, the blowhole has been attracting tourists to the area for years.
The blowhole is a large hole within the ocean cliff face. Over time, an inside part of the cliff had worn away, resulting in bursts of sea water which shoot up from the massive hole and spray tourists.
