Castle on the Hill Murwillumbah, NEW SOUTH WALES
Airing Date: May 26th, 2003
This unusual accommodation is set in the beautiful Tweed Valley with dramatic views of the nearby majestic Mount Warning and its surrounding misty mountains.
This B&B was 12 years in the making and has been a labour of love for the owners, who wanted the accommodation to resemble a 'new renaissance' experience. Complete with gargoyles, harp serenades and medieval banquets, Castle on the Hill offers visitors an atmospheric cocktail of history and peculiarities.
Each of the three guest rooms has a queen-sized bed, sound system, tea and coffee making facilities, quality linen and towels and a view of the forest and mountains.
Visitors receive complimentary fruit baskets on arrival and optional extras include an aromatherapy massage or a dinner under the stars.
Castle on the Hill's optional extras don't just stop there either; guests can participate in personalised art classes with professional artist Robert Todonai, enjoy an authentic Chinese cooking lesson or join a Spiritual Tour of Mount Warning that includes a walk to Lyre Bird Lookout and sightseeing of the nearby village of Uki.
Alternatively visitors are able to just explore the area by themselves. The Mount Warning National Park is definitely worth a visit. Known as one of the few remaining rainforests in Australia, it offers walking tracks, swimming holes and picnic areas.
