A hydro-electric power station pumps water from the Nymboida River and then releases into Goolang Creek, creating one of Australia's most exciting white water courses. The Nymboida River also shelters one of the North Coast's largest platypus communities. These delightful creatures can be viewed in the early morning and late afternoon in these clean waters.

Nymboida Canoe Centre is one of the best white water facilities in the State and has hosted many local, regional, state and national championships. Nymboida Canoe Centre offers modern budget cabin accommodation. For those who wish to camp they have around 100 acres of grounds at the Centre with BBQ shelters scattered throughout.
