Two hours from Sydney in the beautiful Southern Highlands lies a unique retreat that offers absolute seclusion and loads of activities to take part in - all in the nude! Here at River Island Retreat, you can four-wheel drive, canoe, bushwalk and even go fishing, just the way nature intended.
River Island Retreat sets itself apart from the rest by being a 'clothing optional' getaway rather than a nudist camp. This eases the pressure for visitors to shed their clothes and also promotes a more family-friendly environment. If a family member or friend doesn't want to join in activities completely naked, they don't have to.
While there are many activities to choose from, many guests choose just to laze around the pool, relax in the spa or cook up a storm on the barbie. There's also an entertainment complex called the Barn, with snooker and pool games, darts and video movies, and an open fire place that generates a friendly country-style atmosphere. When night falls, the Barn is the place to head to see live bands, discos, talent quests and other events.
There's a variety of accommodation to choose from. Guests can camp on a peaceful grassy area, either near the main complex or along the riverside, hire out a caravan with covered verandah, or stay in a fully self contained cedar cabin that sleeps up to four people.

Powered camping sites at River Island Nature Retreat are $11 a night. Caravans are $78 per night and luxury cedar cabins are $128 per night. If you just want to spend a day entry will only cost you $17.
