Jamberoo/Symbio Wildlife Gardens, NEW SOUTH WALES
Airing Date: Nov 1st, 2004
The beautiful Jamberoo Valley is about 90 minutes south of Sydney, and nestled amongst a paradise of rolling pastures and densely forested hills is Jamberoo Recreation Park.
The park is spread over 30 hectares, and with the opening of two new rides, Jamberoo is now New South Wales' largest theme park and offers even more fun for the whole family.
At Jamberoo Recreation Park it's your choice - take it fast on the sensational bobsleds, speed cars or wet racers or take it slow on the chairlift, the Jamberoo express, have a round of landscape golf, feed the wildlife or relax in The Loft.
Billabong Beach and Rapid River are also great fun for kids, allowing kids from as young as two to join in the fun, while mum and dad monitor their every move from centrally-located sun lounges or an elevated viewing terrace.
Another great family destination is the Symbio Wildlife Gardens, located 45 minutes south of Sydney and bordering the world famous Royal National Park. Exhibiting over 1000 Australian native, farmyard and exotic animals in 16 acres of natural bush and parklands, Symbio was recently rated as Australia's best wildlife experience and is recognised for the close encounters visitors experience with the animals.
Have a truly educational but fun experience at the Wollongong Science Centre. Wollongong has recently opened its $6 million Science Centre as a focal point for technology, tourism and education in the area.
The new centre is expected to attract more than 60,000 visitors a year and includes the first internationally recognised planetarium in NSW and a high-tech public observatory as Wollongong's window to the stars. It provides a fun, hands-on adventure in the world of science and a showcase for Australia's technological advances.
