Darwin Fishing, NORTHERN TERRITORY
Airing Date: Sep 6th, 2004
Rebecca Olds is the star of Channel Seven's new reality show, Playing It Straight. Rebecca has lived in Darwin most of her life, and in her regular life works as a barmaid at the Victoria Hotel. She loves living in the friendly town with great weather and a laid back lifestyle.
Darwin is a great fishing destination, so for those who enjoy fishing or just want to get out on the water, Gold Cat Charters can organise a trip for you. They place emphasis on specialising trips to cater to your personal needs, with corporate-style day charters.
Gold Cat Charters can take you out coastal reef fishing, which is an excellent way to relax and unwind. A smorgasbord lunch and soft drinks are provided, along with bait and tackle for the fishing.
If you'd like to drink alcohol, you can bring your own. Special arrangements can be made for corporate clients to cook up a BBQ and your catch of the day. Alternatively, the crew will clean and chill your fish ready for you to take home.
From the rough and ready to the refined, Darwin has it all. Why not spoil yourself and indulge in some pampering at the Cullen Bay Day Spa? They offer massages, scrubs and a variety of other treatments. You can also have a pedicure for $65 and manicures start at $40.
For a taste of Darwin nightlife, head out to the Victoria Hotel, also known as 'The Vic'. There is the pub downstairs and the dance club upstairs, along with balcony drinking access.
It's a popular spot with the locals as well as backpackers, which means the night is guaranteed to get lively and dancing on tables is not an unusual sight!
It is here you can find Rebecca working behind the bar and it's definitely the place to be. There are even live bands and groups like the Smashinannas playing regularly on Tuesday nights.
Playing it Straight starts Thursday 9 September at 8.30pm on Channel Seven.
