Cape York Motorcycle Adventures, based at Clifton Beach north of Cairns, was the second motorcycle tour company to begin operation in Australia, and they pioneered the motorcycle adventure tours in Northern Queensland. They provide a range of guided motorbike safaris to the remote areas of Cape York Peninsula.
Tours are conducted on a ride/return or ride/fly basis, and range from one, two, five, six, eight and 16 days in duration. Cape York Motorcycle Adventures currently own and operate 21 motorbikes, a 14 seat mini van and a Toyota Landcruiser 4WD support vehicle that accompanies each five, eight and 16-day trip. They also take satellite phones for remote area communication.
The tours are all inclusive, so all you need to bring is yourself. Once you leave Cairns, your only extra expense might be for a cold drink, or a souvenir.
Tours include latest model motorcycles (250cc & 400cc), all meals, fuel, accommodation, all camping equipment (if required), national park permit fees, ferry and transfers, and riding gear (helmet, goggles, gloves, boots, knee guards and jacket). Five full time staff are employed, with additional guides during peak season.
This exciting ride takes in exhilarating mountain trails, heavily forested tracks, spectacular views, cool mountain streams, and secluded and remote waterfalls accessible to only a privileged few.
Highlights include: the CREB Track (a local favourite and regarded as one of Australia's best off road riding tracks), Kuranda, Port Douglas and the Daintree Cape Tribulation coast, where the Great Barrier Reef and the Daintree rainforest meet. It's the only place on earth where two World Heritage areas exist side by side.
