The Gold Coast Hinterland Food and Wine Trail is a circuit of food and wine discovery through a region bounded by Nerang, Canungra, Tamborine and Oxenford. It is a convenient day trip from any Gold Coast location and you can join and leave the tour at any convenient point.
Tambourine Mountain is a flora and fauna sanctuary in the Gold Coast hinterland. Situated only 40 minutes from the coast and at an elevation of 550 meters the mountain is renowned for perfect climate, spectacular views, lush farmland, subtropical rainforest and country hospitality. Set amidst this natural beauty are wineries, country arts and crafts, restaurants, antique shops, galleries tearooms and nurseries.
It's hard to believe that just 40 mins from the Gold Coast's high rise resorts and theme park mecca you'll find cosy cottages surrounded by tall rose gums, avocado orchards and lush rainforest. A cottage complete with stone gable and bull-nose verandahs...Witches Fall Cottages are sure to lay a spell on you and your partner! A stroll from your cottage will find you at one of two wineries complete with it's own manmade cave, a cool place to savor the wines of the region.
Continue walking to find a quirky junkyard owned by a character whom has been collecting trash and treasure since the 50's. Meander along the edge of the escarpment on the property and enjoy the views and amazing sunset. After a day of exploration visit the Cottages Ozen Dining Room, a Japanese style eatery complete with Japanese style low tables and a circular 'Spinner Fireplace'.
Tambourine Trolleys, the Mountain's newest attraction, are unique tram-style trolleys, purpose-built to link the mountain's wine trail, restaurants, antique shops and galleries with the nature walks and views to create a unique and cohesive tour experience for visitors.
With the blinds rolled up on the open-air rear section of the Tamborine trolleys, there is no better way to experience the fresh mountain air, magnificent scenery and the many attractions of Tamborine Mountain.
