Wiggles World, QUEENSLAND
Airing Date: Mar 20th, 2006
The Wiggles have won three ARIA awards and three APRA songwriter awards and have sold in excess of 17 million DVDs and videos, and five million CDs and cassettes worldwide.
They have successfully crossed international boundaries and set up their own Wiggly franchises. This includes joint ventures with such giants as the Walt Disney Company and catering to the non-English speakers in South America and Europe. The Taiwanese Wiggles are up and running, China, Japan and England are about to follow suit, and for the original four, this all adds up to an income that outstrips Kylie Minogue or Nicole Kidman. Now, Australia accounts for only 10-15% of their $45 million turnover.
Due to the Wiggles' success, the new Wiggles World has opened at Dreamworld on the Gold Coast. Children can dance with Dorothy the Dinosaur, shake their hips with Wags the Dog, wave and wiggle with Henry the Octopus and sail the seas with Captain Feathersword every day of the year.
Families will buckle up and sing along as they toot toot, chugga chugga through Wigglehouse in the Big Red Car.
Imaginations will run wild in the Fun Spot Activity Centre, filled with fun, educational games and all your favourite Wiggles music. The Fun Spot is a haven for creative expression and positive social interaction where children and grown-ups can get down to the serious business of fun. Wiggly fans will also have the chance to learn and play with bouncing barnyard babies at The Wiggles Farmyard Friends, an interactive petting zoo filled with the pitter patter of tiny paws and claws. And Ahoy There Me Hearties, don't forget the Captain's ship... because the S.S. Feathersword is setting sail for fun at Wiggles World!
