Wild Dolphins Resort, QUEENSLAND
Airing Date: Jan 1st, 2002
Sitting right on one of the pristine beaches is Tangalooma Wild Dolphin Resort. The resort is ideal for families and has a wide range of accommodation options ranging from hotel-style rooms to two-bedroom villas.
On the island you can take in a three-hour whale-watching cruise on the Tangalooma Flyer, where between June and late October you can spot humpback whales migrating south.
For the thrill-seeker, head towards the massive sand dunes in the island's desert. They are perfect for flying down on a piece of masonite, otherwise known as sandboarding. Other activities on the island include bushwalking and 4WD tours.
After enjoying a pleasant dinner at the resort's restaurant, help feed the wild dolphins that come right into shore.
