Noosa is a popular tourist destination with great shopping, beautiful beaches and some fantastic opportunities for outdoor activities. The Pedal and Paddle adventure trek, run by Rick and Linda Whitlock, is a great way for visitors to experience the spectacular natural environment.
All participants are given a safety talk and a brief training session before the trek begins at sunrise with a leisurely climb to the top of Mt Tinbeerwah. It's about 500 metres to the top and the climb takes around 20 minutes.
From the top of Mt Tinbeerwah there are 360-degree panoramic views of Noosa and the surrounding hinterland. The walk is just the warm up though - the next leg is all about pedalling.
Pedal and Paddle supply the mountain bike, so all you have to provide is the pedal power. The down hill bike ride offers beginners to advanced tracks, and includes a ride down to Wooroi through untouched rainforest, native bushland and Tewantin State Forest.
This scenic off road trail through the forests and palms is a great opportunity to sight birds and native wildlife before pulling up for some morning tea at Noosa Banks. After a short break, trekkers pair up in double kayaks and head to Cooroibah Creek then Cooroibah Lake. This lake feeds into the Noosa River, which eventually joins the sea.
Kayaking and canoeing is a popular activity in this area as the water is sheltered and there is an abundance of birdlife and marine life to watch out for.
The Peddle and Paddle half day trips cost $66 per adult. This includes morning tea, pickup and drop off at the end of the day. They will pick you up from Australis Noosa Lakes apartments, which is also a great place to stay and relax after a busy day.
