Tewantin, QUEENSLAND
Airing Date: Jan 1st, 2002
Every year, two and a half million people come here for a bit of rest and relaxation and a great way to see the area is on a two-hour Camel Company Safari.
Most of the camels have been rescued from the wild, and the trip makes you feel as if you're exploring the Central Australian desert rather than the sand dunes of Tewantin.
Once you leave the beach behind, it's time to tackle the Noosa River by wakeboard, a mix between surfing and water-skiing.
The main trick is to get your stance right, and once you get the hang of it you are sure to have a lot of fun.
The sheltered inlets of the Noosa River make it an ideal spot for wakeboarding and water skiing.
The last stop for the day is a real test of your nerves. Once you check in to the Novotel Twin Waters Resort, head out the back to the ropes course, which will help you learn to overcome your fears.
You get to jump off a 10-metre pole as well as trying a balancing exercise known as 'The Postman's Walk'. You are attached to a harness so your safety is assured.
