Sporting Adelaide, SOUTH AUSTRALIA

So, you love your cricket? Perhaps you're an avid AFL fan? Maybe it's the rush of tennis that gets you talking? If you've ever wanted to be part of the action, now you can - just head to Adelaide.

If footy's your thing then the AAMI Stadium is for you. Join a tour and check out the home of the Adelaide Crows and their arch rival, Port Adelaide. Although you can't go on to the oval itself, the tour will take you through the change rooms, down the players' race tunnel and on to the boundary. You'll also tour the convention centre and corporate boxes.

Once you've done the stadium, pick up your cricket bat and head over to the hallowed Adelaide Oval for a two hour tour of the grounds. They'll show you the scoreboard that was built in 1911, the players' rooms, the Donald Bradman Stand, the committee lounge and the museum. Tours run Monday to Friday 10am to midnight and Sundays from 2pm to 4pm.

You can't talk about great Australian sporting achievements without talking about tennis. And you can't talk tennis without talking Lleyton Hewitt, a 'crow-eater' himself. Don't miss out on seeing Memorial Drive Tennis Club where Lleyton won his first professional title at just 16 years of age. It's also where Lleyton used to train, and you can too, with a day membership. Adelaide may be home to the great heroes of cricket, footy and tennis, but let's not forget about golf. Sure, there aren't any heroes, but what South Australia lacks in world class golfers it makes up for in golf courses. Royal Adelaide is one of four Australian golf courses that are in the world's top 50.

Whatever your sporting passion, Adelaide has it covered inside and out.
