The journey begins in South Australia at Adelaide Railway station for a 90-minute ride to Tanunda station in the heart of the Barossa Valley. Once you pull into Tanunda the tasting begins.Once you arrive you head 10-minutes drive from the station to Maggie Beer's Farm Shop. One of Maggie's most famous products is the Pheasant Farm pate, an absolute must! Next stop is to taste wine at Langmeil, one of the oldest commercial wineries in Australia. Its located just a few minutes drive from Maggie's. The vines are 150 years old and still produce Shiraz grapes.After tasting the classic drop its time for lunch. The Barossa was established by Europeans, which is reflected in the menu. The menu has dishes from Germany as well as Australia. The two-course lunch is included in the ultimate tour price and to top it off the rest of the afternoon is spent tasting more of the regions finest wines in one of its finest buildings.The Chateau Tanunda is a central landmark in the Barossa. Built in 1888, the massive French-style chateau can store 5 million litres of wine. You will also be glad to know that the last thing to do on the tour is enjoy a beautiful siesta on the way back to Adelaide.
