The Springs and Gumdale are adjoining sheep properties nestled in the Bendleby and Hungry Ranges in the Southern Flinders Ranges. The properties cover an area of 40,000 acres. The two ranges offer a variety of terrain perfect for a 4WD adventure. Hungry Ranges is mallee and porcupine country whereas Bendleby is filled with gum and pine trees. These sheep stations opened up to the public five years ago in 2000 as a means to make some extra income as they had several hard farming years on the station.

This is the perfect place for 4WDriving and bush walking. You'll find accommodation in shearers quarters, the school house and Gumdale. Gumdale is a fully self contained three bedroom house which sleeps nine people. This property is located 2km from The Springs. The Springs Shearers Quarters has six twin share rooms and features a communal bathroom, kitchen and dining area and each camp site has its own toilet, fire ring and wood supplied and there are hot showers within a five to ten minute drive.

Those keen to 4WD drive on the properties can join a tag-along tour or hop on a self-drive tour. People who want to 4WD drive can pick up maps which outline the various tracks across the two properties. They have various tracks from beginners to advanced ones there are many to choose from on the different types of terrain. The 4WDriving tracks on this property are becoming so popular that many of the people that 4WD on this property have said that the property is similar to the popular High Country tracks found in Victoria.

For day trippers they charge $30 per vehicle which is an environmental protection levy. The tracks offers a wide variety of terrain and views from the eagle vistas of the Flinders to rocky valleys and wooded gum and pine gorges. They also have a test track to give people a chance to revise their skills or check their proficiency. Further information

A one day driving fee starts from $30 a vehicle, camping starts from $10 for adults & $5 for children, Gumdale Cottage starts from $75 a night, this sleeps up to nine.
