Airing Date: Mar 13th, 2006
Moorilla Estate is the birthplace of Tasmania's modern wine industry.
Moorilla Estate is a unique combination of vineyard, Antiquities Museum, restaurant, brewery, function centre and luxury accommodation surrounded by a vineyard on a 3.5 hectare peninsula that juts into the Derwent River just 20 minutes' drive from Hobart.
Moorilla Estate produces some of the best cool-climate wines in the world under two labels - Moorilla Estate and St Matthias.
In exceptional years, premium wines are produced, the Reserve (pinot noir, syrah) and Winter Collections (Bordeaux styles such as cabernet sauvignon and merlot).
Moorilla Estate White Label wines are premium varieties ideal for cellaring. Moorilla Estate Black Label wines are ideal for every-day drinking and medium- to- long-term cellaring. St Matthias wines are value-for-money wines ideal for everyday quaffing.
