Wayne Rose, director of Australian Photographic Tours, has been travelling and photographing Australia for the past 15 years. His self-taught passion for photography started at a young age and now he shares his hobby with those who join him on his tours. Whether you're a beginner or a professional, expert advice is at hand throughout your tour to teach you the various techniques so you can turn those out-of-focus holiday disasters into art.
The tours include 4WD travel and camping, in order to get right into the spectacular High Country. Camping also means guests can be on the right spot to take advantage of the early morning and the evening light, essential when taking the best photos. Tours not only offer the opportunity to capture these sights, but also to really experience the Australian landscape.
Australian Photographic Tours offers a range of accommodation, from camping and shearer's quarters to motels and luxury resorts. However, most of the tours are camping based so you can wake up at the break of dawn with camera in hand.
Tour groups are kept small, with a maximum of eight to ten photographers. This is especially important when photographing wildlife. With groups of this size the tour can be flexible to varying weather and lighting conditions, making it possible to change locations easily. This also allows for personal service as there is an excellent guide-to-client ratio.
