Mira Mira Cottages, VICTORIA
Airing Date: Mar 8th, 2004
Mira Mira is a collection of fantasy bed and breakfast accommodation. Located on 20 acres, this property is a country retreat, within six kilometres of the township of Neerim South, or 14 kilometres to the main town of Warragul.
Owners Nobby and Sheila Ward had always dreamed of running their own bed and breakfast, and have so far finished building two of the seven planned buildings - the Japanese Zen Retreat and The Cavern.
The very tranquil Japanese Zen Retreat has two bedrooms and is built over one of the dams on the property. It features sliding shoji screens in the lounge and bedroom, which open to bring in lots of natural light or can be closed up to provide privacy. The Zen Retreat also has a fantastic bathroom including a tub which is perfect for relaxation.
You enter The Cavern through the mouth of a Magog. Fire lanterns light the way to the large living area consisting of a well-appointed kitchen, dining area, TV and log fire. The cavernous main living room has marble water features, and off the this area are two double bedrooms with different fantasy themes.
Fancy coming back? The owners have plans for more accommodation, like Tanglewood. This accommodation looks like something straight out of a fairytale. Nobby also takes his inspiration from the works of the famous Spanish architect, Gaudi, and there's a gothic castle with a dungeon in the plans.
With such varied accommodation there's sure to be something to suit all tastes.
