After seven years Arthur's Seat Maze has relaunched itself with a new enchanting image.
Always more than just a maze, it includes six enchanted areas each with new and unique features suited to people of all ages and imaginations. It's really an excuse for adults to take their kids but have more fun themselves!! There are seven mazes including the Hedge Maze, Turf Maze, Children's Maze, Blue Gum Gallery Maze, and three brain teaser challenge mazes which include a Tyre Maze, Rope Maze and Rocky Road Maze (in which you can only turn left to get out of!) and the Seasonal Maize maze...
There are two forms of mazes;
1. Unicursal - consists of one path which twists and turns but eventually leads to the centre.without branches. Sometimes called a circuit maze, Unicursal mazes have no blind alleys and don't pose much of a puzzle to those that negotiate them. They are the oldest form of mazes.
2. Multicursal - This is a maze with branches & dead ends - finding the goal of this maze is the real challenge!!
There are also twenty theme gardens which include a weeping cherry garden, bosquet garden, Christmas garden, the grey garden, the gum tree garden, fragrant tile garden, Columbian pot garden, platter garden, conifer garden, dinosaur, African savannah, fairy garden, beach box, marble sculpture, cottage garden, pottage garden, parterre, Japanese garden and Loch Ness Monster!
After getting lost for hours in the mazes and fantasy gardens, take a peek into the Lolly Shop - but it's not just any old shop - it's the AMAZING lolly shop! It's like something from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory! Giant chocolate fountains, miniature trains chuffing around the walls laden with goodies, humungous lollipops and every delicious fantasy! It's more than a big kid's imagination (and stomach) can endure!
