Moonah Links golf resort is fast becoming the home of Australian golf. Its brand new, offers challenging holes and some of the worlds best will be slogging it out here later this year.
Moonah Links will be holding the Australian Open golf tournament in November and under a new agreement, its set to hold the prestigious tournament every few years.
But you dont have to participate in the Australian Open to play a round here. In fact, you dont even have to be a member all you have to do is book.
Located an hour and a halfs drive from Melbourne, Moonah Links is set on 690 acres on the Mornington Peninsula. It offers two courses for both professionals and amateur golfers to use, the west Open Course and the east Legends Course.
The Open Course was designed by five times British Open winner Peter Thompson. The intention was to make this course challenging for professional golfers as well as enjoyable for the amateurs.
From the first hole youll notice the unique landscape of the course. It uses many trees, long rolling greens and even apartments as obstacles. Its also offers the first stadium perspective in Australia, with each hole being easily filmable for viewers to watch worldwide.
