Woodbox Retreat is set over 12 acres of bush on the top Mt Toolbewong, home of the towering mountain ash and other spectacular native rainforest species. Staying here you'll wake to the sounds of native birds, see black cockatoos, kookaburras, rosellas and the lyrebird with its distinctive call and wonderful display. There are three well appointed bedrooms with large windows overlooking the garden.
Each has a king size bed, one of which can be reconfigured as twin beds, white linen, doonas, electric blankets and colourful woollen throws. One bedroom has an ensuite with a double spa and a shower. The central bathroom has a bath and a separate shower. The large open-planned living area has a wood fire, central heating, audio sound system, a TV and DVD. The finishing touches include a mini-library, an espresso machine and a 'do-it-yourself' fresh produce breakfast basket.
The kitchen at Woodbox has a family size fridge, a very serious six burner stainless steel stove/oven, dishwasher, espresso machine, coffee grinder and a wide array of saucepans, utensils, crockery, glassware and cutlery for a full house to please the most accomplished - or even unaccomplished cook. Just about everything you need to prepare a light breakfast or a feast.
