El Questro Station, WESTERN AUSTRALIA

The Kimberley is one of Australia's final frontiers, a remote and ruggedly beautiful land. Located just 90 minutes from Kununurra is El Questro Station. Out here, you can sleep under the stars - but if you don't want to rough it, there is five-star budget accommodation.

El Questro Wilderness Park also offers 15 family-friendly activities to keep everyone happy.

Chamberlain Gorge is one of 50 or so gorges that run through the property and it will take your breath away. Two-hundred-foot cliffs tower over three kilometres of croc-infested water.

On a leisurely three-hour cruise you will be treated to a stunning display of Wandjina aboriginal rock art. If all the crocs are making you a bit jealous, you'll be happy to know that just 30 minutes from the gorge are the Zebedee thermal springs. The natural spa bath is crocodile-free and the temperature is a beautiful 28 to 32C degrees year round. If you are in the area on a Saturday night, be sure to head to the Swinging Arm Bar for a great family fun night out. The Swinging Arm Bar is El Questro's one and only pub and it offers activities including an evening jam-packed full of free entertainment, such as a good old sing-along around the campfire.
