Each of the six four and half star chalets are position around 50-100 metres apart, so you feel as if you're surrounded by nothing but an enchanted forest.
Each chalet has a luxury king size bed, candle-lit spa with a waterfall roof window, cosy log fire, sheltered front verandah with barbeque, reverse cycle air conditioning and all mod cons like CD player, television and video player. Guests are even welcomed with complimentary amenity packs. It's the perfect treat to start your weekend of indulgence.
Those keen for a bit more relaxation can arrange an in-house aromatherapy massage or facial. Massages start from $75 and by the end you'll feel completely rejuvenated, so much so, that cooking dinner will be the last thing on your mind.
This is where Mike from Newrange Catering comes in. While you relax Mike can prepare a three-course gourmet meal which can be served in your chalet, on the front veranda or even on the jetty overlooking the lake. It's almost like a mobile restaurant - with you choosing the atmosphere. A three-course meal costs around $130 for two...and that includes the cleaning up.
If you're keen to check out one of the local wineries, Clairault is just a five minute drive from the Forest Rise. Not only do they have award-winning wines, they also provide delicious meals. A gourmet lunch costs around $32 and all guests at Forest Rise receive a discount card which entitles them to 10% off.
A popular way to explore the beautiful forest surrounding the chalets is to go mountain bike riding along one of their three main trails. You'll come across a picnic area which is a great spot to stop put out a rug and relax in the tranquil forest. The owners Julie and David can arrange a gourmet picnic hamper for your outing, and there are backpacks in each chalet that have all the picnic props you'll need.
The facts
One night at Forest Rise usually costs $210 per couple but as a special for viewers of The Great Outdoors you can stay mid-week for three nights and only pay for two. This offer is limited to the first 100 callers and includes a CD called Sounds of Forest Rise.
