The Grove Vineyard is one of the smallest wineries in Margaret River, producing small batches of their own wines and selling the rest to larger operations.
The winery uses the traditional Champagne method to make their sparkling wine and you can make your own too! You start with a short introduction into 'methode champenoise' and then the process begins.
The wines are taken out of storage and put into riddling racks. The bottles are standing on their necks and they are twisted daily. There are half a dozen sparkling wines at the winery. Visitors taste each wine and decide which one they would like to make.
Visitors will enter into the cool room and pick the base wine of their choice, to this base wine you will add expedition liqueur and top up the bottle with the same wine as in your base mixture. Then it's time to seal the bottle. You will put in a sparkling wine cork, the wine cage over the top and select your own hood colour.
Once this is done the bottle will go into the freezer for ten minutes to cool. While your bottle is cooling your picture will be taken to go on the front of the bottle, this entire experience takes around 30 minutes.
You can also stay at The Grove Vineyard. There are two self contained chalets, Chalet Cabernet and Chalet Chardonnay and one Honeymoon Bungalow on the property. The chalets have three bedrooms and two bathrooms and the honeymoon bungalow has one bed an indoor spa and outdoor jacuzzi
