Live large in Canada's biggest city!

Toronto is Canada's largest city, with a population of approximately 4.7 million people, & North America's 5th largest city.

It is known to be one of the most multicultural cities in the world and because of its low crime rates, clean environment and generally high standard of living, Toronto is also consistently rated one of the world's most liveable cities.

For tourists, there is plenty to see and do here for families, couples & singles alike, from the Toronto Islands to the many unique and exciting neighbourhoods of the city. Toronto even lays claim to some of the 'biggest' things in the world.

CN Tower is a must see for all visitors and not surprising draws in 2million people every year. Until September 2007, it boasted of being the world's tallest freestanding structure on land, at 553.33m, however it was recently overtaken in height by the 'under construction' Burj Dubai. It does still, however, have the world's highest public observation deck at 446.5 m, 6 high speed elevators, glass floor viewing area and restaurants to give the ultimate view over this stunning city.

Below CN Tower and extending over 27km, is the Toronto PATH System which, according to Guinness World Records, is the largest underground shopping complex in the world. Offering a dizzying array of 1200 downtown shops, services, hotels and attractions, its underground location provides pedestrians with a safe haven from the winter cold and snow, and the summer heat.

To see several of Toronto's most popular and famous attractions, the Toronto City Pass is the way to go. It provides entry to 6 top attractions, including Casa Loma, Toronto's 98-room castle, CN Tower and the Hockey Hall of Fame, at a bargain price.

Not part of the ticket but also a great, cheap destination for family fun, is the 600 acres of open spaces over on Toronto's Islands. Each year, over 1,225,000 people take the ferry from the city to the islands, for rest and relaxation, enjoying it's many parks, bike paths, beaches and even the Centreville Amusement Park, which has been entertaining families for decades.

Finally, for some night time entertainment the kids will love, don't miss the dinner and show at Medieval Times, complete with jousting knights and finger licking good food.

There's certainly plenty to see and do in Canada's biggest city, so don't leave it off your next Canadian itinerary!
