Tui Tai Adventure Cruise, FIJI
Airing Date: Jun 30th, 2007
Fiji is famous for its islands, deep blue waters and exclusive resorts. But staying at a fabulous resort also means you're pretty much locked into just one location: So a great way to see and do a lot in a short time is on a voyage with
Tui Tai Adventure Cruises. And this way you get the best of both land and sea activities!
The Tui Tai Adventure Cruise is a unique holiday designed for active travellers looking to get off the beaten path and truly experience Fiji.
The Tui Tai has been sailing Fiji's waters for more than 25 years, and recently underwent a huge multi-million dollar refurbishment. The ship is packed with top-of-the-line mountain bikes, kayaks, surfboards, and scuba gear and transports passengers from one unspoiled island to the next over the course of three, four or five day adventure tours. The ship only sleeps 24 people, making it a unique and boutique sailing experience. Other activities include mountain biking in
Bouma National Heritage Park - one of Fiji's best conservation and ecotourism success stories, with three sets of waterfalls to relax and swim in.
Sailing between
Vanua Levu,
Taveuni and the more remote islands of
Kioa,
Koro and the
Ringgolds, passengers aboard the A/S
Tui Tai get to snorkel pristine reefs, kayak in the crater of a volcano, mountain-bike and trek through rainforests as well as splash around at waterfalls, swim, dive and fish.
The cruise takes guests far away from any main islands and into tiny atolls. Known as the Ringgold Isles, each is surrounded by a barrier reef that drops into the deep blue sea. Within the reef is a magnificent lagoon, teeming with life and remarkable colours - perfect for snorkelling and diving.
Cobia Island is a sunken volcanic crater, and its inside has filled with sea water, forming a mystic lagoon. Guests are taken along hikes around the crater and then have the chance to actually kayak inside the crater!
But it's not all action-packed, there's plenty of time to soak up the atmosphere on day beds and beaches aboard the A/S Tui Tai, enjoying the fabulous food and friendly staff as well as stopping in to say "Bula" at remote local villages on
Kioa island and
Rabi island for truly unique insights into village life and the islands cultures.
