Wadigi Island, FIJI
Airing Date: Feb 14th, 2005
Wadigi Island in Fiji is an hour by boat from Nadi. Located in the Mamanuca Islands, Wadigi is just off the coast of Malolo Island, one of Fiji's premier tourist areas. Wadigi is so exclusive, you get more than your own villa or beach - you can have the whole island to yourself.
The island itself caters for a maximum of six people and offers the ultimate in privacy and extravagance. The island is owned by Tracey Johnston from Brisbane, who travelled to Fiji for a holiday, fell in love with it and never looked back.
Whether you visit the island with a loved one or come with a group of friends, all guests have at least eight people looking after them at all times. This includes everybody from your host, gardener, boatman, handyman and cleaner.
Whatever food you desire, chefs Li and Si can cook it up for you. Their specialty is lobster with champagne, which is about as good as it gets.
If you feel like Wadigi is the place to say 'I do', you can organise a wedding package deal including an island wedding cake, dinner with lobster and champagne, music featuring the village choir, flowers, massages, a champagne breakfast for the bride and groom and of course, the minister.
The house has three suites with king size beds and balconies with ocean views. There's also a luxurious lounge with TV and DVD player. All guests receive a complimentary bottle of French champagne.
While on the island, take advantage of the other outdoor activities like scuba diving, windsurfing or fishing. Day trips can also be organised to the location where the film Castaway with Tom Hanks was filmed.
