An "oasis of the spirit", a town far removed from the frenzied pace of Italy's larger cities, Siena has preserved its own urban dimension, and is a great location to experience Italian culture.

It is said that the Sienese speak the purest form of Italian (a lovely Italian that is not altered by dialect) and so Siena makes an excellent choice for studying the language. Thousands of students come to Siena to study Italian each year; knowing that speaking with the locals they meet during their stay will help improve and reinforce their language skills. Siena offers an opportunity to study in more intimate environments, where class sizes are more limited, thus lending more personal attention to each student.

Centro Internazionale - Dante Alighieri is an Italian language centre which was founded in 1979, and specialises in teaching Italian language to foreigners. The school is located in a renovated building in the Castelvecchio area of Siena, 10 minutes walking distance from Piazza del Campo. There are 20 classrooms, a study centre, a recreation room, a cafeteria, a computer room with internet access (small fee applies), a courtyard and three terraces. The atmosphere is friendly and informal and you will learn Italian in a relaxed, historical setting. Students may attend the school and learn Italian for any length of time from 2 weeks to 9 months. All teachers are highly qualified university graduates.
