Tanjung Rhu Resort is luxury beachside accommodation situated at Langkawi in Malaysia. It boasts one of Langkawi's best beaches, with magnificent views of nearby islands which can be reached at low tide on foot.
On a clear day you can even see across to Thailand. It's the perfect place to get your food fix while enjoying the surrounds of one of Malaysia's most beautiful islands.
The area is known for its glorious natural environment. The resort is set on 1,100 acres and flanked by century old lime-stone caves. Visitors can laze on the two and a half kilometre stretch of beach, or tinkle on the resort's grand piano in the reading room. There are two swimming pools, heaps of restaurants and a day spa.
If you just want to head into the great outdoors try a windsurfer, catamaran, sea kayak, mountain bike or even a hydro bike. Another highlight is a riverboat cruise where you'll see magnificent Langkawi eagles diving for fish.
You can also head out by boat to the Pulau Payar Marine Park in the Malacca Straits. The Malacca Straits used to be the busiest trade route in Asia, but these days it's better known as a top spot to dive and snorkel. You can go on a private dive with two licensed instructors at two locations for around $207. The added bonus is the warm water. At 29 degrees, you probably won't even need a wetsuit. You can also go for a snorkel in a fenced area, where the fish stay in and the sharks are kept out.
Need a bite to eat? Get stuck into the gastronomic delights on offer at the resort. There are five dining options, from fine dining to poolside service. And the best bit - if you take the all inclusive dining package, if you can stomach it, you can eat up to six meals a day!
