Agrodome, Rotorua, NEW ZEALAND
Airing Date: Mar 20th, 2006
Hidden away on the North Island near Rotorua is an adventure park, set on a farm, the Agrodome. Agrodome has everything you need to get your heart pumping!
If bungy jumping is a little daunting for you and yet you enjoy adventure activities, then 'Swoop' is for you. The Swoop generates a rush level equal to that of the bungy, each person is placed inside a modified and specially developed hang-gliding harness and raised to a height of 40 metres. One person pulls a rip-cord and you will experience the feeling of flying with speeds up to 130km/hr. The added beauty with the 'Swoop' is that you can go solo, double or triple, the latter being the ultimate. As the more weight, the faster, the higher and the longer you swing!
The 'freefall' is Southern Hemisphere's only freefall skydive simulator. Experience the sensation of flying unattached' up to 5 metres in the air on a 150kph column of wind. Visitors learn the sky diving position first up before they get on the actual 'ride'. There is a safety net surrounding the jet of air that protects those on the ride from falling to the ground.
The Agrodome's Jetboat is a 450-horsepower, jet-propelled 13-foot Race Boat that will deliver you up to 100kph in 4.5 seconds on 1 KM of manmade purpose built water course. You can be between the ages of 4 to 80 to experience the Agrojet. Experience G-Forces not unlike Formula One Race Cars!
As well as being a place for adventure Agrodome is a 160-hectare working sheep and cattle farm with 1200 sheep and 120 cattle. The Agrodome gives international visitors to New Zealand a real hands-on, live experience of farming and a total interaction with sheep, goats, cattle, deer and lambs.
