Singapore Zoo, SINGAPORE
Airing Date: Apr 10th, 2006
Singapore's Zoo attracts around 27,000 Australians each year.
So why is this Zoo so popular with us Aussies and what makes it stand apart from the rest? In this Zoo there are no cages, only moats and some glass between you and the animals so you really have an up-close and personal experience. It's more like a trip into the wild. To begin your day at the zoo, you just can't miss the breakfast with 'wild' guests....an Orangutan and Spider monkey just to mention just a few!
After breakfast, join the monkeys in the trees... no, not literally... just take a walk on the Zoo's treetops trail, and look down on those cheeky monkeys such as the Siamangs and cotton top Tamarins. There are heaps of shows in the different enclosures throughout the day including 'Elephants at Work and Play' and a Tiger Trek to see the rare and endangered white tigers.
Or, if the legs need a break hop on a buggy on the 'Wild Discovery Tour'. When the sun goes down, the zoo comes alive with the sound of the nocturnal animals and it's time for the night Zoo Safari. Are you game enough to feed tigers in the night?
