Tahiti Cruise, TAHITI
Airing Date: Feb 12th, 2002
The cruise begins in Fare, a sleepy little fishing village on the island of Huahine, and her ship is the 'Haumana'.
The 'Haumana' has just nineteen cabins, which means there can be no more than thirty-eight guests at a time. The first day is spent leisurely cruising around to the other side of Huahine passing dozens of tiny coral islands called Motus.
The next day kicks off in a rather unusual way. Breakfast is had off the boat, and your chairs and tables sit ankle deep in the 27-degree waters of the lagoon.
If you can drag yourself away from those crystal clear waters for just a few hours, you can hop on a four-wheel drive safari that winds through vanilla plantations, and past the ruins of ancient Tahitian villages.
Over the next day or so you'll pass more idyllic islands and even cruise up the historic Faaroa River until eventually the 'Huamana' will arrive at the Uturoa Quay in Raiatea.
All meals are included, along with water sports, onboard activities and any shore excursions.
