This smalll rural town with mining origins is located 35km south east of West Wyalong. Barmedman boasts a mineral pool that originates from the floddingof goldmines by an underground stream in the 1880's.

The pool is situated on a four-hectare reserve with barbeque facilities, is free to enter and open during the summer months. The water is said to have health giving properties.

In March each year the local community host the Barmedman Modified Tractor Pull.
