Things to See in Byron Bay

Lighthouse
Cape Byron E on Lawson St from Town Centre, left onto Lighthouse Rd Lighthouse Rd

Drive right up to the picturesque 1901 lighthouse or alternatively get some exercise and walk to the summit. If on foot, be wary of hoofing it back to town after dark, especially if alone: the terrain is isolated and you'll be dodging unseen cars on the narrow roads.

Main Beach
Town Centre from Town Centre, head to Bay St to reach Main Beach

Main Beach, right in front of the thick of town, is the most popular spot for swimming and beautiful people watching.

Captain Cook Lookout
Cape Byron Lighthouse Rd from town centre, head E along Lawson St, left into Lighthouse Rd.

Start your 4km (2.5mi) walking track around Cape Byron from the Captain Cook Lookout on Lighthouse Rd. The rainforest stretch near the lookout provides a good chance of seeing wallabies, bush turkeys and feral goats.
