Things to See in New South Wales

Jenolan Caves
Jenolan Caves Rd Kanangra Boyd National Park southwest of Katoomba

The jaw-dropping Jenolan Caves are one of the most extensive and complex cave systems in the world. Named Binoomea or 'Dark Places' by the Aboriginals, the caves were formed over 400 million years ago and are Australia's best-known limestone caves. Tours traverse a warren of vivid and surreal stalactites and stalagmites through nine of the caves.

Mungo National Park
110km (68.3mi) northeast of Mildura Willandra Lakes Region southwest NSW

Remote and beautiful, Mungo National Park covers 27,850 hectares (68,790 acres) and echoes with over 400 centuries of continuous human habitation. A 25km (15.5mi) semicircle (lunette) of huge sand dunes, known as the Walls of China, has been created by an unceasing wind that constantly exposes ancient Indigenous artefacts and prehistoric bones.

Bondi Beach
Bondi, Sydney Sydney

Bondi lords it over every other beach in Sydney, despite not being the best one for a swim, surf or, damn it, a place to park. The suburb itself has a unique atmosphere due to its mix of old Jewish and other European communities, dyed-in-the-wool Aussies, New Zealanders who never went home, working travellers and the seriously good-looking.
