New South Wales experiences a diverse weather pattern; 40°C (104°F) summer temperatures are not uncommon, while in winter snowfalls and icy conditions occur across the Snowy Mountain range. July and August are the best months to go outback - the rest of the year is scorching. Sydney has a temperate climate, with heavy rainfall in April and June.
