Mildura
The mighty Murray River may be shrinking, but Mildura remains one of Australia's richest agriculture regions and a popular tourist destination. Meandering waterways breathe life into the striking red soil, creating fertile crops (especially oranges and grapes) and a varied tapestry of landscapes.

Mildura is not as changeable as some parts of Victoria, experiencing consistently hot dry summers and mild winters. It gets cool most evenings - even in summer - and while rainfall is fairly even throughout the year, expect more showers in winter and spring.
