There's far more to Mallorca than the holy triumvirate of sun, sea and sand. Fight your way past the army of tan-seeking tourists, and you'll discover Gothic architecture, hilltop villages, olive groves and hidden beaches. If you're after something a bit crazier, there are summer parties galore.

Mallorca Health and Safety

Backpackers visiting Palma will encounter problems if they need to find a safe spot to leave their luggage while waiting for flights or ferries, or when on an overnight camping trip. There are no left luggage facilities on the island and the hostals in Palma are loath to look after bags due to a spate of thefts in recent times. If you do leave luggage at a hostal, be warned that you do so at your own (considerable) risk.
