Cardiff

Cardiff is small enough to be friendly and big enough to entertain. Sport is at its heart (the Millennium Stadium looms large) and Cardiff Bay gleams with restaurants and civic majesty. With Victorian-era castles and parks, it's a capital the Welsh can be proud of.

Cardiff Health and Safety

Cardiff, like most of Wales, is a relatively safe place. However, it's subject to the same problems as any other UK city, and it's wise to be alert to possible dangers. Its reputation for nightlife, and the number of bucks' and hens' nights it hosts, can see things get ugly closer to the witching hour. If it looks like trouble's brewing, just give it a wide berth.

It obviously pays for travellers to be aware of property crimes, in particular pickpocketing, bag-snatching, and theft from cars and hotel rooms. Keep an eye on your luggage and valuables at all times, especially when in crowded places (such as stations) or at sites popular with visitors.
