The Gardens are always alive and buzzing, hosting a wide variety of events throughout the year. Below you will find our top 10 list of Hunter Valley Gardens events and festivals for 2009.

Easter Long Weekend: 10th - 13th April 2009
Hunter Valley Gardens will be hosting a fantastic program of games, activities, entertainment and prizes over the Easter Weekend including Easter bonnet craft, giant parachute, egg and spoon races, sack races, Easter sing-along show, hatching chickens and colouring in competition. Join the Easter Bunny in searching for lots of coloured eggs in their Giant Easter Egg Hunt. Every child receives a gift of Easter chocolate at the completion of the hunt. Don't forget to bring along your Easter hat and join in the Easter Hat Parade.


School Holiday Fitness Fun: 14th- 26th April 2009
Take away the boredom of the school holidays with the Fitness Fun theme at the Gardens. The program includes gym and fitness classes, giant parachute games, sporting games and equipment, vegetable garden talk and tour, free 'Vegie garden' seed pack for every child, free fitness prize draw everyday, plus an interactive music, dance and exercise-based show.


Mother's Day: 10th May 2009
Spoil your Mum this Mother's Day! There'll be great prizes, girls only pamper zone, demonstrations plus lots of fun for the kids with jumping castle, pony rides and face painting.


School Choir Competition: 2nd - 17th June 2009 (27th June - Finals)
Hunter Valley Gardens are holding a school choir competition for the third year running. They will be embracing and encouraging young talent across the region, providing a platform for students and teachers to showcase their musical achievements. Cash prizes are on offer to enhance education and creative arts facilities and resources in the school environment.


Mid Winter Wander: 21st June 2009
Share the passion with veteran & vintage, classic & commercial, hot rods, street machines & bikes. Begins at 9.00am from the Stockland Shopping Centre at Glendale then travel to Hunter Valley Gardens Village.


Hunter Valley Running Festival: 19 July 2009
It's not everyday that you get to run through world famous gardens, historic homesteads, international golf resorts and of course, some of the most famous wineries in Australia. Mix that with a huge selection of races, friendly country race crew, loads of prizes and you have an event not to be missed.


Hunter Valley Gardens Chocolate Festival: 1st & 2nd August 2009
This amazing event will immerse you in a chocolate experience you will never forget while enjoying family fun activities and information inspired by chocolate. This festival will inspire, inform, surprise, entertain and celebrate chocolate - an indulgent escape we all deserve once in a while. There will be over 30 display stalls with free entertainment, demonstrations, activities, competitions and prizes for the whole family. Don't miss out on this yummy chocolately delight!


Festival of Flowers; September (TBA)
Festival of Flowers is an event designed to immerse visitors in a visual and sensory experience they will never forget. There are over 250,000 annuals and bulbs planted throughout the many themed spaces of Hunter Valley Gardens. See the many Garden talks and tours, demonstrations, roving entertainment, displays and exhibitions.


Rose Spectacular: 12th October - 15th November 2009
Take the opportunity to see Hunter Valley Gardens blooming with over 2 million rose blooms, throughout the annual 'Rose Spectacular'. See 35,000 rose bushes in over 125 different varieties. The majority of the roses grown at Hunter Valley Gardens are of the fragrant variety, after all, a rose without perfume just isn't a rose! Includes rose talks and demonstrations.


Christmas Lights Spectacular and Carols: 18th November - 31st December 2009
Over 400,000 Christmas lights are on show throughout designated areas of Hunter Valley Gardens. Includes special guest Santa, carols by candlelight in the Gardens, entertainment, food and beverages. Witness the magic of Christmas at the Gardens every Wednesday to Sunday throughout November and every night in December.
