Rokeby is an interesting commuter suburb of Hobart with a population of 3500 people, and is just 19km from the CBD. Agreeably located on the eastern shore of the Derwent River, it is part of the Clarence Plains. Rokeby is just north of Ralphs Bay and is distinguished by a village green and the historic St Matthews Church.

The suburbs main claim to fame was - it was where the settlers first grew wheat and harvested apples - but more recently it has become the location of the Tasmanian Police Academy.
